May I Present Harrison,

Harrison is a 14hh bay and white, blue eyed Gypsy stallion.  He is by RR Nelson who is 1st Premium European Rated, and one of the few in the U.S. with this title.  Nelson is a grandson of The Old Horse of Wales and was out of the The Sweeper Mare, very big names in the Gypsy breed.  Harri's Dam, Gemma, was imported by Black Forest Shires as a foundation bred mare.  Gemma passed her incredible color, one blue eye, and huge movement
to Harri while Nelson added a ton of hair and feather, as well as another big blue eye.  This fun coloring and really goofy personality have made Harri one of the favorites of visitors and artists alike!

This boy is incredibly athletic and has an amazing work ethic!  He loves to work in harness and has been started undersaddle as well.  His movement makes him ideal for lower level dressage, and he has great form over fences.  However, Harri really starts to shine once he's hooked up to the cart.  Harri was born to pull and knows when it's time to buckle down and work.  We are hoping to show him in the upcoming season in harness and hopefully undersaddle as well.

The best thing about Harrison, though, is his disposition.  He knows he's a boy, often showing off and trying to act like he's The Man.  However, he prefers to snuggle and receive scratches over anything else.  He'll stand for hours while you scratch him, and despite being a stallion he's really fun and easy to work with.  He's his trainer's favorite and has quite the fanclub started up!

Harrison has been brought up in an environment that allowed him to mature mentally and physically before being bred.  His bloodline is one that is slower to mature, so expect to see him fill out and grow slightly in height for a few more years.  Keep in mind that the feather he is showing in these photos is after living outside 24/7.  He still manages to keep a nice amount of feather, despite not being stalled constantly.  We think his name fits him perfectly!  He has straight and silky feather, as well as mostly white wavy mane and a curly black tail.

Harrison is an absolute jewel.  Sadly, shortly after his birth Gemma passed away due to foaling complications.  It was horrible seeing such a beautiful mare leave us, but she will always be in our thoughts.  Gemma was truly an amazing mare and was actually my favorite at the Ranch.  Harrison will live on in her memory.  Don't worry Gemma, we're taking care of your little treasure.

If you're interested in breeding your mare to Harrison or learning about his upcoming foals, please contact us!  He's available to a VERY select number of mares during his first breeding season in 2012.  Stay tuned as more photos are added while his training progresses and he starts his showing career!
